PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE: PHM), the nation’s third largest homebuilder, announced a momentous year for its Built to Honor® program, which provides mortgage-free homes to veterans injured during their military service. After surprising 11 worthy veterans and their families with the gift of a new home over the past 12 months, the program has undertaken 67 homes since its inception in 2012.

“We launched our Built to Honor program almost a decade ago, as our way of saying ‘thank you’ to our nation’s heroes by doing what we do best: building incredible places where people can live their dreams,” said PulteGroup President and Chief Executive Officer Ryan Marshall. “Our teams continue to enthusiastically embrace this program and remain steadfast in supporting its mission to meet the needs of returning military servicemen and women.”

In 2021, deserving veterans will have received homes in Texas, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota and North Carolina. Additionally, the program is currently constructing homes in New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas that will deliver in early 2022.

On Veterans Day, recipients in Minnesota and Florida will receive the keys to their new homes during special dedication ceremonies. PulteGroup’s Minneapolis division will deliver a new Pulte home in the Trillium Cove community to U.S. Army Sergeant Efferim Tillman and Army Specialist Jessica Poplin, a dual military family. While in Jacksonville, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Ellis “Jerry” Majetich will be welcomed to his new home in Del Webb Nocatee. This will be the first Built to Honor home dedicated in a Del Webb community, which are designed for active adults ages 55 and older.

“This program would not be possible without our national and local suppliers and trade partners who provide materials, labor and monetary donations in support of these homes,” said Marshall. “I also would like to recognize our veteran-agency partners who help us identify candidates and share our commitment to improving the lives of wounded veterans and their families.”

“Following the tremendous success of this year, we look forward to celebrating our milestone 75th Built to Honor home in 2022.”
