QinetiQ and BAE Systems collaborate to support mission-critical Test Pilot training.

For more than 75 years, ETPS has provided world-leading training for flight test professionals, equipping them with the specialist knowledge, understanding, and test flying skills they need to run safe and effective military and civil flight test programmes. In recent months ETPS students have benefitted from being able to train on the Royal Air Force's combat proven multi-role fighter - the Typhoon. The opportunity to use the aircraft has been a direct result of the close partnership between QinetiQ, BAE Systems and the MOD, and has provided enhanced training opportunities to the UK and International students of ETPS.

Col Rae, Head of Training at ETPS, said, 'Thanks to the growing partnership between QinetiQ and BAE Systems, and our continuing close relationship with MOD, our students had the opportunity to access the Typhoon as part of the core syllabus for the first time in ETPS history. Typhoon BT17, flying from BAE Systems' Warton Airfield, was used as we successfully completed the Fast Jet training requirements for the ETPS 2020 Fixed Wing Class. We look forward to having the opportunity to use this advanced aircraft for future courses.'
