The advancement of wireless technologies is a continuous story. Over the last two years,5Gproliferated the globe and is already available from more than 130 operators in over 60 countries. Now, 5G is set to get even better.

Advanced and new capabilities - such as5G mmWave, 5G carrier aggregation, and standalone mode, plus many more new features in theupdated 5G specifications finalized last year- are poised to make 5G faster. Even more significantly, they'll make 5G more robust and more adept to power not only the latest smartphones, but also home internet connectivity,PCs,industrial equipment, and more.

That's the promise of 5G, and that's why today, we're introducing a broad set of products and solutions that can enable what's next in 5G.

Introducing the Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System

First, we're announcing the Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System. This is the world's most advanced 5G modem-RF solution to date, and it's the first ever modem-RF system designed to break the 10 Gbps peak speed barrier. It's also the first to support the latest 5G specification (Release 16).

Beyond speed, the Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System is built to deliver outstanding power efficiency and truly global 5G. It also boasts unprecedented bandwidth aggregation for downlink and uplink, includingmmWaveand sub-6 GHz aggregation to enhance attainable 5G speeds. All together, this means better user experiences.

And in the true spirit of 5G, this isn't just for smartphones, but also mobile broadband devices, fixed wireless access (FWA), industrial IoT, and more.

Additionally, we're announcing a widely-accessible sibling of the Snapdragon X65 - the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System. It supports multi-Gigabit download speeds and is designed for mobile broadband services and FWA applications.

Even more RF front-end solutions for 5G mobile devices

There's no great modem-RF system without great RF. That's why we're bringing major enhancements to Qualcomm RF Front-End solutions. Compatible with both of the above systems, we're also announcing:

  • Qualcomm 545 mmWave antenna module (4th gen)
  • Qualcomm QET7100 Wideband Envelope Tracker (7th gen)
  • Qualcomm AI-Enhanced Signal Boost

The Qualcomm 545 mmWave antenna module supports higher transmit power compared to the previous generation for extended mmWave coverage. It also supports all commercial, global mmWave bands, including the new n259 (41 GHz) band, all while maintaining a tiny footprint as in the previous generation.

Our 7th generation wideband envelope tracker provides further enhancements for power efficiency - up to 30 percent compared to the average power tracking technology from competitors. This is essential to the design of a new generation of 5G devices with support for all-day battery life, which consumers expect. The new tracker also works with both 4G and 5G and uses less space, allowing for sleeker devices.

Lastly, the Qualcomm AI-Enhanced Signal Boost is the world's first AI antenna tuning technology that intelligently detects hand grips around the phone. This keeps devices fine-tuned and allows for fewer dropped calls, better coverage, and longer battery life.

A new leap for 5G fixed wireless access

Today, we're also unveiling our Qualcomm 5G Fixed Wireless Access Platform Gen 2, which includes our new Qualcomm 547 mmWave antenna module. Powered by the new Snapdragon X65 Modem-RF System, this new platform allows operators to use their 5G infrastructure to provide internet access to homes and small businesses, which is critical to helpingclose the digital divideand deliver much needed high-quality connectivity.

It features extended-range mmWave, sub-6 GHz support with eight receive antennas, support for Qualcomm Dynamic Antenna Steering technology, andQualcomm FastConnect 6900. Additionally, we're releasing a new FWA reference design to enable our customers to commercialize their products faster. Specifically, this can help OEMs quickly and cost-effectively create customer premise equipment (CPE) based on the Snapdragon X65 5G Modem-RF System, accelerating accessibility to 10 Gbps peak speeds at home.

Rounding out this category, we're also announcing a new Snapdragon X12+ LTE Modem for FWA solutions that still rely solely on 4G networks.
