SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) _ Quest Diagnostics Inc. (DGX) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $390 million.

On a per-share basis, the Secaucus, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of $3.12. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, were $3.33 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.35 per share.

The medical laboratory operator posted revenue of $2.74 billion in the period, matching Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2 billion, or $15.55 per share. Revenue was reported as $10.79 billion.

Quest Diagnostics expects full-year earnings in the range of $8.65 to $9.35 per share, with revenue in the range of $9 billion to $9.5 billion.
