Ramco System's Innovation Lab in Singapore has introduced a touch-less facial recognition system, called RamcoGEEK, for attendance with temperature capturing. The device can recognize employees using facial recognition and measure internal body temperature to detect possible infections, which in turn can reduce the risk of coronavirus outbreaks in buildings, according to a press release.

The system can integrate with IoT sensors on doors to restrict access to the building if the employee has a higher temperature than usual. In addition, companies can track the movement of employees with higher temperatures if they enter the building. Companies can also replace the facial recognition component with voice to register access, according to the release.

"We have a major global health pandemic that has affected many. The spread of the disease has brought the focus back on hygiene and health of employees. We built this application to help better address a crisis through technology," Virender Aggarwal, CEO, Ramco Systems, said in the release. "Robust containment through a robust attendance and access system with zero contact and temperature measurement can be a key to avoiding easy spread of the virus that can take place with a biometric access system."
