Ramsay Health Care announced that it has reached agreement regarding a new volume-based agreement with NHS 1 England (NHSE) which makes its services available to the NHSE and its patients to meet the ongoing demands resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar to the last agreement with the NHSE, Ramsay will be able to continue providing private patient activity. The new agreement is operational from January 10, 2022, expires on March 31, 2022 (unless terminated earlier by mutual agreement) and may be extended by mutual agreement on or before 15th March.

The NHSE may trigger a Peak Surge Period on 7 days' notice should company's capacity be required to enable the NHS to respond to COVID-19 cases. In these circumstances, the affected hospitals will be paid on a cost recovery basis.
