Ratch Public : contributes 15 million baht joining energy sector to produce Ethanol Alcohol for COVID-19 high-risk people across the nation

Nonthaburi: RATCH Group Public Company Limited (RATCH), as a subsidiary of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), contributed 15 million baht to the fund raised by the energy industry led by the Ministry of Energy, EGAT and PTT Group. The fund aims to procure ethanol for distrilling a industrial-grade ethyl alcohol (70% concentration). The product will be distributed across the nation to people who are highly at risk of COVID-19 pademic through the network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) and Community Public Health Service Centers across the country.

Mr Kijja Sripatthangkura, RATCH Chief Executive Officer, said that the Company is willing and honored to be a part in helping the country to overcome this difficult period as quickly as possible. It is aware that the elderly, people with medical conditions and the medical and public health personnel are at high risk for infection of the corona virus amidst the shortfall of alcohol supply being used for sanitization and disinfection of the Covid-19 virus. Accordingly, RATCH and the energy business sector volunteered as reinforcements to alleviate the problem by purchasing 2.4 million liters of ethanol to produce 70 % concentration of ethyl alcohol in order to provide to the high-risk people nationwide. The network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) and Community Public Health Service Centers, as local agencies that can efficiently access and know thier communities very well, will be used as effective distribution channels of the alcohol supply.

Adhering to the responsible corporate citizen intention, RATCH is fully ready to join force with all sectors, and also comprehensively takes the government's measures into action. Instructions for proper self-protection of its employees and business partners, screening and assessing the risk of infectious persons at workplace, implementation of the work-from-home practice as well as alternating the working hours have been ongoing and seriously applied in the Company's work process.
