Centre Antoine Lacassagne (CAL), a leading cancer center in Nice, France, has placed a significant new order for the RayStation® treatment planning system. RayStation, currently used for proton therapy planning at CAL, will now manage all radiation therapy treatment planning at the center. This order is one of several in the French market during the fourth quarter of 2020, confirming a strong momentum for RayStation sales in the country.

CAL is one of the few centers in France to offer all the major treatment techniques, including conventional photon therapy, proton therapy, brachytherapy, stereotactic treatments and tomotherapy. The center is recognized worldwide for its expertise and has concluded cooperation agreements with many countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, particularly concerning high-energy proton therapy.

CAL's radiation therapy department selected RayStation because it is the only treatment planning system able to handle all treatment delivery systems at the center. The department also appreciated its usability and cutting-edge features to improve patient treatment and efficiency.

The installation will consolidate existing systems at CAL and bring the benefits of advanced RayStation functionality to all radiation therapy treatments. Key features will include unmatched adaptive therapy capabilities, multi-criteria optimization, market-leading algorithms for IMRT and VMAT optimization and highly accurate dose calculation engines for photon, electron and proton therapy.

RayStation sales have remained strong in France despite the impact of the global pandemic and the order from CAL is one of several major orders from French customers in Q4 2020. In total RaySearch has received orders totaling around 2.7 million EUR in France during the fourth quarter of 2020, excluding support agreements.

Johan Löf, Founder and CEO of RaySearch, says: "Centre Antoine Lacassagne has a worldwide reputation for its treatment quality, research expertise and dedication to use the latest techniques to benefit its patients. We are proud to help CAL achieve its long-term aims, and we are committed to supporting all radiation therapy approaches through a single platform."
