ANNAPOLIS, Md. -Collins Aerospace Systems, a unit of Raytheon Technologies Corp. (NYSE: RTX), was recently awarded two new cont racts to provide communications and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to Metro Transit, the primary public transportation operator in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. The agreement, which builds on an existing relationship between the two organizations, is part of the region's 16-station expansion and extension of its Green Line.

'As the current provider of a number of Metro Transit's systems, including its supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, we're able to provide new applications and integrated technologies that ensure the safety and security for Metro's passengers and enable reliable transit service throughout their operating area,' said Eric Pelli, director of Surface Transportation and Critical Infrastructure Systems for Collins Aerospace. Under the agreement, Collins Aerospace will expand the system's functionality and integrate approximately 200 new devices within a number of communications systems, including local and wide area networks, train control and traction power interfaces, tunnel radio, IP camera system, access control, fire emergency systems, customer information public address and variable message signage, rider alert panels and physical and cyber security systems. In addition, Collins Aerospace will conduct testing and training with Metro Transit staff, and serve as systems integrator with the transit agency's control system.
