REA Group Ltd | Sustainability Report 2022

CEO message

Over the past 12 months, we have remained committed to our Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, with meaningful progress achieved in a number of key areas.

Introduction

I am proud that our efforts have been recognised by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) with the Group receiving an improved ESG rating of

  1. Our ongoing commitment to a sustainable future is reflected in our FY23 Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with our success to be determined by maintaining an MSCI ESG AA rating in the next financial year.

As we build a next generation sustainable organisation, our focus on Environment has expanded. Advancing our carbon footprint reduction plan, we recently installed solar panels at our headquarters in Richmond, Victoria. We have also moved to a GreenPower accredited renewable energy provider, Green Energy, across most REA locations in Australia.

Good governance is essential to the long-term performance of our organisation. In FY22, REA undertook a gap analysis to establish a roadmap in response to the Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. In line with the TCFD governance recommendations, the remit of the Executive Risk Committee (ERC) has been expanded to include climate related risks and opportunities to reflect its responsibility for keeping the Board (and Board Committees

as appropriate), informed on climate change related risks and opportunities from FY23.

Pleasingly, we were officially certified as a Great Place to Work 2022 for the second consecutive year. Known as the global authority on workplace culture, the Great Place to Work Best

Workplaces List ranked REA fourth for companies of more than 1,000 employees. REA India was also ranked 21st among India's 100 Best Companies To Work For by Great Place to Work Institute (India).

A critical part of our culture is our commitment to diversity and inclusion. This year, we partnered with Diversity Council Australia (DCA) to run our first Diversity and Inclusion Index to better understand the demographics of our people and their experiences of inclusion at work. We care about creating a safe working environment and are proud that REA was recognised as an Inclusive Employer 2021-2022.

This program of work was integral in identifying where to focus our efforts and will be used to inform new initiatives, including partnering with Reconciliation Australia to develop our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2023. The RAP will see REA embed the principles and purpose of reconciliation in the way we function, engage with our employees, and interact with the community and other organisations.

Our commitment to wellbeing extends beyond our employees. In response to elevated levels of burn out experienced by property managers during the pandemic, REA launched a new wellbeing platform 'Prosper' to actively help our customers support their people and improve mental health outcomes. Prosper is an online wellbeing centre of excellence that provides content and on-demand learning modules from leading

property management and mental health experts to equip our customers with the skills required to navigate these particularly changing times. Partnering with our customers beyond our product offering is driving positive industry change.

In February this year, we acknowledged seven years of partnership with Launch Housing. Launch Housing's National Rapid Rehousing Fund has provided financial assistance to more than 5,286 women and children since its inception. Aligned with our purpose, we believe that everyone deserves a safe place to sleep, every night, which is why we partner with leading homelessness organisations to ensure our financial and in-kind support is directed in the most impactful way.

REA has been on a journey of growth since the day our company was formed and it is our continued passion and drive to innovate that will help to create a sustainable future for our business, customers, consumers, the community and our shareholders.
