BSc Construction Management - Housebuilding

What is the Redrow Degree?

At its core the three-year Construction Management in Housebuilding degree BSc was developed by Redrow in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University and Coleg Cambria. The degree is designed to support further development within your current role and expand your knowledge in all areas of construction

and management. It's further evidence of how we value our people and demonstrates the commitment to our employees and improving the construction industry as a whole.

Who is the degree for?

The Redrow degree is open to our employees within Redrow, including Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, Sales Consultants, and Customer Care and Technical teams. In fact any colleague able to commit the time with the support of their line manager can opt in to undertaking the Redrow Degree!

I never thought I would get, or study for, a degree, so it's a great opportunity for me. I am learning so much more and developing an even greater understanding of the industry, which will help me do my job even better. I left school at 16 not knowing what I wanted to do. I never did well and left without any GCSEs. After training to be a joiner and spending time in the Forces, I joined Redrow as a finishing foreman and have just gone on from there.

"The degree was explained as a possibility for those who are driven and passionate about what they do, and I am. We do a week at university and then several weeks on site, as well as other learning. Time management is an issue, it's a demanding degree course, but you put in what you expect to get out. The teachers are amazing. We've looked at health and safety, surveying and business theories in the first year, and it is already giving me a more in-depth knowledge of the business. It will be such an achievement for me to get a degree and will hopefully lead to a higher managerial role within Redrow."

Completing the degree course is just a great thing to do! I've enjoyed the study, never thought I'd get the chance to go to university and I've learned so much, site based knowledge and about departments and functions I just would't have known about in my role, but life skills too - how to learn, how to present and lots of other useful knowledge.

I completed an apprenticeship with Redrow straight from school, I'd always wanted to be more practical and go straight into work and not very academic - doing the Redrow degree course has given me the chance to complete a degree whilst gaining experience first. I will have no debt and been paid and promoted during my time with the company! Its definitely something I'd recommend anyone to do."
