Redsense Medical announces that the company's blood leakage alarm now is in use at all of the five largest dialysis care providers in the U.S. The alarm is also used at three of the top five hospitals in nephrology.

The five largest dialysis care providers - Fresenius, DaVita, U.S. Renal Care, American Renal Associates and Dialysis Clinic Inc. - have a combined patient base of close to 500,000 patients, about 8,000 of which receiving home hemodialysis, according to the Nephrology News & Issues survey. All of these providers are now using the Redsense Alarm as a precautionary measure to prevent haemorrhage due to Venous Needle Dislodgement.

The five highest-scoring hospitals for nephrology according to the U.S. News's evaluation are the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia and Cornell in New York, NY, the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Out of these five, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic and New York Presbyterian all include Redsense in their clinical practice.

"We are seeing that Redsense's solution is becoming the established standard practice for major hemodialysis providers. This is true in particular in conjunction with at-home treatments, a modality that is undergoing strong growth in the U.S. market," says Redsense Medical's CEO Patrik Byhmer, and continues: "We are happy that our product continues to make an impact; providers and clinics are adopting it because it offers an efficient way to enhance patient safety and protect against one of the dangerous complications of hemodialysis."
