Renergen updated shareholders on the progress being made in commissioning of the Phase 1 plant, further to the announcement made 3 May 2022. The progress thus far includes: Cooling systems are fully commissioned, Nitrogen removal system to purify the helium is commissioned, All water systems are commissioned, All the LNG Cryogenic vacuum jacketed pipelines have been checked and pre-cooled and are ready for use, Helium cryogenic vacuum jacketed pipelines have been checked, All Digital control systems signals and communication have been checked and are completed, Safety systems installed and are being continually tested, All rotating equipment has undergone final preparations for commencement of operation. The remaining key activities on site are as follows: Helium vacuum jacketed pipelines to be pre-cooled in preparation for ready for use, Flushing and cleaning the amine wash, a component used to remove carbon-dioxide from the gas, Rotating equipment tested with nitrogen, Mixed refrigerant circulation testing, Storage tanks pre-cooling, Commercial operation.

In order to ensure safe operating procedures, the commissioning team have elected not to put combustible gas through the system until it is ready for commercial operation, but rather to complete the commissioning with nitrogen as it is inert and significantly reduces the risk of fires or explosions.
