Rivian Automotive Inc. said Wednesday that production levels in its second quarter were in line with expectations and the company expects to deliver on its forecast of producing 25,000 electric vehicles this year.

The electric-truck startup said it produced 4,401 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Ill., during the quarter ended June 30. The company delivered 4,467 vehicles during the same period.

Rivian said in March it aimed to produce 25,000 vehicles this year. The company, which went public last fall, produced 1,015 vehicles by the end of 2021.

Shares rose 3.8% to $27.88 in premarket trading.
