The World Sambo Youth Championship has ended in Thessaloniki, Greece. Rosneft was the general partner of the event.

The Company has been the general sponsor of the International Federation of Amateur Sambo since 2013. Over this period, dozens of robust championships were held on the national and international levels.

The championship was attended by athletes from 16 countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Israel, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Morocco, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, United States and Uzbekistan. The competitions were in men's, women's and combat sambo disciplines. Awards went up in 30 weight categories. All championship matches were broadcast on the official IFAS website.

The International Olympic Committee has recognised Sambo as an Olympic sport this year. This opens up new opportunities for the development of competitive wrestling. There are currently 94 sambo federations in the world, with 68 countries broadcasting national and international championships.
