ROSSETI, Andrey Murov, First Deputy Director General, Executive Director of Rosseti, inspected power supply facilities in the south-east of Moscow and the near Moscow Region.
The Kaskadnaya 500 kV substation hosted his meeting with Academician Vladimir Fortov, scientific director of JIHT RAS. The parties discussed the experience and prospects of joint implementation of innovative solutions at Rosseti facilities.
The capacity of the 500 kV Kaskadnaya substation is 1900 MVA. This is enough to supply electricity to over 1000 apartment buildings.
The Kaskadnaya is part of the Moscow's 500 kV power ring that guarantees reliable power supply to the capital city. To solve the problem inherent in all megacities-the growth of short-circuit currents due to high energy consumption and high concentration of power facilities-experimental equipment developed jointly with JIHT RAS has been installed at the substation.
