At a working meeting held in Moscow, Sergey Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan, and Andrey Ryumin, Director General of PJSC Rosseti, discussed the implementation of President Vladimir Putin's instructions regarding the power supply in the region.

They reviewed the progress of the inventory count and registration of abandoned grids in order to consolidate the integrated power grid. Currently, Rosseti Northern Caucasus operates only 43% of the total number of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids directly supplying power to consumers.

As part of the discussion of the electrical grid infrastructure modernization, it was noted that at the moment the reliability improvement program for 2022-2023 is under approval of the Russian Government, which will allow to upgrade the equipment and reconstruct the facilities.

"It was a constructive dialogue. We identified the specific steps we would take to fulfill the President's instructions for Dagestan. Of course, first of all, we are talking about the consolidation of grids, and especially abandoned ones. I consider successful the experience of implementing the power supply reliability improvement program, which includes both the upgrade of grids and elimination of accidents. We are also planning to implement it this year. Year by year, Rosseti Northern Caucasus allocates more and more funds for winterization as well. If last year it was 891 million rubles, this year we are planning to allocate more than 1 billion," emphasized Sergey Melikov.

"We are actively cooperating with the authorities of the Republic of Dagestan on the entire range of issues related to improving the quality of electricity supply to consumers. This is necessary for the stable development of the region. Despite the shortage of tariff sources, over the past two years it has been possible to increase the amount of funding for equipment repairs and upgrading. However, additional measures need to be taken to solve problems that have been piling up for decades. Now, the reliability improvement program of unprecedented scale is being discussed at the federal level. We also continue to work on the consolidation and solution of the problem of abandoned grids, which will make it possible to form a single center of responsibility towards consumers," noted Andrey Ryumin.
