IDGC of the South (Rosseti group of companies) has launched a project on introduction of energy management system (EnMS) to correspond with ISO 50001 standards. The project is carried out in accordance with Rosseti Policy of innovative development, energy saving and energy efficiency.

The standard ISO 50001 helps organizations consider issues of energy saving and energy efficiency both from technical point of view, when the company elaborates and introduces energy saving projects with calculated costs and benefits, and from organizational aspect.

Introduction of EnMS should help in applying a systematic approach to energy conservation, ensuring consideration of all direct or indirect impacts on energy efficiency. The main goal of the standard 50001 is to create necessary conditions, arrange interaction between departments, develop organizational rules, carry out internal audit, educate and in the result to involve all employees in the energy saving projects and arrange their activity in accordance with the principles of EnMS.

Standard ISO 50001 is the best global practice in the sphere of energy saving that all leading companies uses as guidance. When a company has all elements of EnMS it means that the process of energy management is continually improving and is checked during internal and external audits.

During implementation of energy management system the company will prepare new documents and amend the existing ones.

Certification to ISO 50001 is planned for the end of this year.
