Hemel Hempstead, 10 January 2022 - BAM joined Pinsent Masons for the fourth in their series of roundtables which explored how we can accelerate modern methods of construction (MMC). The session looked at the role of technology and how we could industrialise construction. It also covered the smart home of the future and a platform approach to MMC.

Discussions highlighted how a Platform Approach to Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (PDfMA) could provide greater flexibility in design and construction and at the same time achieve the highest standards in productivity and quality.

We also discussed how a standardised approach to the management of data is essential for greater collaboration and to help overcome the fragmentation that currently exists within the construction industry.

James Wimpenny, Executive Director, BAM Construct UK, said: 'BAM was delighted to join Pinsent Masons for their roundtable. Helping our clients and supply chain to embrace modern methods of construction is a key part of our strategy and we are working with our industry partners to support this; developing a PDFMA approach and looking at how we can successfully adopt digital twins.'
