Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire 248 fuel and convenience company-owned retail sites in the U.S.

The seller is Landmark Group, whose stores operate in Texas under the Timewise brand. The deal includes supply agreements with a further 117 independent sites.

"Today's announcement increases our presence in a core market and shows our growth strategy in action," Shell's downstream director Huibert Vigeveno said.

The Anglo-Dutch energy company said the transaction falls within its 2021 capital expenditure budget of below $22 billion.
