BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The broadcasting industry is once again looking more confidently to the advertising business. In its spring forecast published on Wednesday, the Association of Private Media (Vaunet) anticipates growth in advertising revenues for the current year in both television and streaming video as well as in the audio sector with radio and streaming advertising. Accordingly, the association anticipates revenue of EUR 6.25 billion - a growth rate of a good 6 percent. Last year, revenue fell by 4 percent.

A look at previous years shows that revenue since 2017 has ranged from EUR 5.7 billion (2020) to EUR 6.28 billion (2021). The association stated that the advertising market for video and audio advertising has been very volatile since the start of the coronavirus crisis four years ago.

The current forecast had already been foreshadowed. The major listed TV groups RTL and ProSiebenSat.1 had both recently spoken of a slight recovery in the advertising market./rin/DP/stw
