BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - Fans will still need two subscriptions to watch Bundesliga soccer matches live on screen. The top match of the 2nd division will be broadcast by another channel in future, while the ARD "Sportschau" will remain. The results of the TV rights auction at a glance:
Sky
In future, the pay-TV channel will broadcast the Bundesliga match on Friday evening and all first division matches on Saturday individually - including the top match at 6.30 pm. Sky will also offer its customers all Bundesliga 2 matches live.
DAZN
The fee-based internet sports channel has secured the first division matches on Sunday as well as the conference broadcast on Saturday, which previously ran on the competition and - before the renaming of Premiere to Sky - was invented there.
ARD
The first summaries on Saturday afternoons on free TV will continue to be shown on ARD's "Sportschau". The program has been the country's most important soccer show for decades and has once again had the exclusive rights to the high points of the league on free-to-air television since the 2003/04 season.
ZDF
Summaries of the Bundesliga will continue to be shown on ZDF's "Aktuelles Sportstudio" on Saturday evenings. This means that the first images of the first division top match at 6.30 p.m. can still be seen on free-to-air television on the second channel.
ProSieben/Sat.1
The station group will continue to broadcast nine Bundesliga soccer matches live on free-to-air television. Most recently, the games were shown on Sat.1, which broadcast the Supercup, the first division games on match days 1, 17 and 18, four relegation matches and the opening game of Bundesliga 2.
RTL
The private broadcaster secured the rights for the top match of the 2nd division on Saturday evening, which will be shown on Sport1 until the end of the current season.
Sport1
The special-interest channel will continue to show the highlights of Friday and Saturday's Bundesliga matches on Sunday until the early afternoon - including in the talk show "Doppelpass".
"Bild", "Sport Bild" and "Welt"
The Axel Springer media company secured the rights for the so-called highlight clips of up to two minutes in length. These can be accessed on Mondays from midnight after the match days as free videos on the "Bild", "Sport Bild" and "Welt" channels on the Internet./jso/DP/ngu
