DAZN offers Bundesliga conference in a cheaper subscription model

BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - Sports broadcaster DAZN is offering the newly acquired Bundesliga conference coverage in its cheaper of its two tariffs. The format, which is popular with soccer fans and features Saturday afternoon matches, is included in the Super Sports package and costs €19.99 per month with an annual subscription. The monthly subscription, which can be canceled at any time, costs €24.99.

Those who also want to watch the Bundesliga and Champions League matches live on Sundays need the Unlimited package for €34.99 per month with an annual subscription or €44.99 with a monthly subscription. DAZN is keeping its prices stable compared to last season after coming under fire in previous years for massive price increases.

Conference broadcasting on television was invented around 25 years ago by Sky's predecessor, Premiere. The German Football League (DFL) developed a rights package from this, which DAZN secured at auction in December. Sky now only shows smaller conferences on 2nd Bundesliga match days. /mrs/DP/mis

RTL Group S.A. is the leading European audiovisual group. Net sales break down by activity as follows: - operation of TV channels and radio stations (60.2%): holding majority and majority stakes in 60 TV channels (including RTL Television, Super RTL, M6, Five, VOX, Antena 3, etc.) and in 37 radio stations (including RTL, 1st French radio, RTL 2, Fun Radio, etc.); - production and distribution of television programs (34.1%): games, soap operas, sports events, etc. In addition, the group is developing a marketing activity for audiovisual rights; - other (5.7%): in particular the exploitation of the websites of TV channels and radio stations.
