BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The broadcaster RTL wants to make its streaming service RTL+ better equipped for a mass outage such as the one caused by the hype surrounding Cora Schumacher. "We are working hard to ensure that such an outage does not happen again," a station spokeswoman told the German Press Agency in Koln on Monday. Towards the end of the reality show "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!", RTL+ collapsed. It had previously been announced that the model Schumacher would be eliminated.

"Due to an extremely high simultaneous use of RTL+, caused by the spontaneous departure of Cora Schumacher, several systems were overloaded yesterday at around 8.55 p.m. despite all preparations." RTL+ was available again on televisions after a 20-minute interruption. But: "On the web browsers and on the iOS and Android apps, the disruption depended on various factors and therefore also varied greatly in duration."/bok/DP/mis
