FREIBURG (dpa-AFX) - According to media reports, a documentary about the German national team during the home European Championships will be released in January. As reported by the Funke media group, the film will be shown on RTL and in selected cinemas in the venues. The "Bild" newspaper also reported. The German Football Association did not comment on the reports.
"We saw a few pictures yesterday, flashbacks of the home European Championship, to emotionalize the team once again," said national coach Julian Nagelsmann on Friday evening. "I don't know what will happen with these images in the further processing, I'll be surprised."
A documentary co-produced by Prime Video at the time about the DFB team during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar caused a stir in September 2023. Germany was eliminated in the preliminary round of the finals, and the film conveyed a correspondingly bad mood.
The DFB team will play against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the Nations League in Freiburg this Saturday (20:45/RTL). The final group game against Hungary follows on Tuesday (20:45/ZDF) in Budapest./mj/DP/ngu
