BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The President of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), Peter Adrian, is concerned about the long-term security of the electricity supply in Germany. "Yes, I am worried about the energy supply. Grid outages lasting less than three minutes affect many companies, especially in industry. Grid operators are having to intervene more and more to keep the grids stable," Adrian told the Funke media group newspapers.
He also complained that electricity and gas prices in Germany were still too high. However, Adrian rejected an industrial electricity price proposed by the SPD. "The industrial electricity price would subsidize a very manageable number of companies without tackling the root of the problems," he said, explaining his position. The DIHK President argued in favor of making adjustments that would relieve the burden on everyone. He cited taxes and grid fees for electricity as an example./brd/DP/mis
