Nuclearelectrica reported earnings results for the full year 2016. For the period, the company reported net profit dropped 27% RON 108.7 million (USD 25.6 million/EUR 24.1 million). The company's 2016 results were influenced by the unfavorable fluctuations in foreign currency exchange rates (EUR, USD, CAD mainly), lower regulated energy transport tariffs and lower energy sales. The company's operating revenues, which include revenues from electricity sales, fell by an annual 3% to RON 1.68 billion. Revenues from the sale of electricity decreased by 3% to RON 1.62 billion due to the extended outage of one of Cernavoda's two nuclear reactors. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) decreased by 1% to RON 158 million, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell by 3% to RON 632 million.
