The Board of Directors of Sagicor Group Jamaica has advised that it now intends to pay declared dividends to shareholders with shareholdings of 1% or less as at April 24, 2020, This is subject to the consent of the shareholders who currently hold more than 1% of the shares of the Company, and this approval is currently being sought. On April 24, the Company in a release announced the postponement of its previously declared interim dividend payment of 40 cents per stock unit. This dividend payment was postponed as a result of action regarding all Financial Holding Companies taken by the Bank of Jamaica, which has now advised on May 11th that they will not object if the company pays the dividend to shareholders with 1% or less shareholdings.
