SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ Salesforce.com Inc. (CRM) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings of $468 million.

The San Francisco-based company said it had profit of 47 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.27 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 15 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 92 cents per share.

The customer-management software developer posted revenue of $6.86 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Twelve analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $6.79 billion.

For the current quarter ending in January, Salesforce.com expects its per-share earnings to range from 72 cents to 73 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $7.22 billion to $7.23 billion for the fiscal fourth quarter. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $7.21 billion.

Salesforce.com expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.68 to $4.69 per share, with revenue ranging from $26.39 billion to $26.4 billion.
