Sami Taipalus has been nominated as Head of Investor Relations for Sampo Group. Sami, 37, joined Sampo in August 2020 to work on strategic projects within the Group Finance unit.

Prior to joining Sampo, Sami Taipalus worked as an equity analyst specialising in European insurers for 10 years, most recently at Goldman Sachs in London. Sami has also worked as an actuarial analyst and he holds a first class honours degree in Physics from Imperial College London.

Jarmo Salonen, 62, who has held the position of Head of Investor Relations for the past 20 years, has decided to step down as of 1 June 2021. Jarmo will continue as senior adviser in Sampo Group until his retirement.

- I want to thank Jarmo for a very long and successful tenure as Head of Investor Relations in Sampo. Jarmo has led our investor relations work during both periods of stability and periods of strategic change over the last two decades, and done so in a way that has been highly appreciated by so many of our analysts, investors, as well as by me and his other colleagues in Sampo, says Torbjörn Magnusson, Sampo Group CEO and President.

- The appointment of Sami will secure continuity in our Investor Relations work, both with respect to knowledge of Sampo as a company, as well as competence needed in our continued efforts to increase our communication and disclosures around our strategic focus area, P&C insurance, says Knut Arne Alsaker, Sampo Group CFO.
