--A consortium backed by South Korean and European companies has won an $11 billion bid to construct an airport in the Philippines, the Nikkei reports, citing an announcement from the group.

--The SPIA Development Consortium, led by Philippine companies Cavitex Holdings and House of Investments as well as Samsung C&T, will build Sangley Point International Airport south of Manila, the report said.

--The project is being planned as a two-runway hub that can accommodate around 75 million passengers a year, with the potential to be expanded to four runways and 130 million passengers.
