SANY, ROOTCLOUD and LEADWAY Heavy Machinery Company Limited (LEADWAY) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of developing business plans for battery swapping services for electric commercial vehicles along with the development of monitoring and operational management software for the batteries and swapping stations. The goal is to realize a green and low carbon future for commercial fleets of construction vehicles.

The initial focus is on highway routes connecting the heavily trafficked logistic areas and other potential routes where there are reasonable needs for swapping stations and batteries requiring servicing.

Mr. Paul Da, Managing Director of SANY, said, "We are willing to complement each other's strengths and cooperate deeply with GPSC to create a new, clean, environmentally friendly and comfortable operating atmosphere for the entire transportation industry chain in Thailand. SANY will contribute our technology expertise in battery swapping and electric commercial vehicles to build a pilot digital green terminal in Thailand together with GPSC."

Battery swapping stations are a key solution to reduce charging times, especially for the commercial transportation sector. Given the foreseeable growth spurt of the electric vehicle industry, the development of supporting infrastructure is imminent. Swapping stations and battery-powered commercial vehicles are the perfect combination to achieve both time efficiency and eco-friendliness.
