São Martinho S.A. Announced earnings results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was BRL 919.728 million compared to BRL 766.665 million a year ago. Operating income was BRL 623.790 million compared to BRL 141.400 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 331.894 million compared to BRL 61.982 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was BRL 0.9573 compared to BRL 0.1845 a year ago. For the half year, sales was BRL 1,940.748 million compared to BRL 1,518.394 million a year ago. Operating income was BRL 845.345 million compared to BRL 273.801 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 447.600 million compared to BRL 153.445 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was BRL 1.2916 compared to BRL 0.4603 a year ago.
Sao Martinho SA is a Brazil-based sugar and energy company. The Companyâs operations include the production and marketing of sugar, ethanol, electricity and other products from sugarcane. Sao Martinho SAâs operations comprise four mills: Sao Martinho, Santa Cruz and Iracema, as well as Boa Vista. The Companyâs portfolio includes multiple types of sugar, including white, very high polarity and very-very high polarity sugar (VHP and VVHP). Sao Martinho SA produces hydrous ethanol (for ethanol-fueled vehicles), anhydrous ethanol (used as a fuel additive) and industrial grade ethanol for other purposes. It also generates electricity from sugarcane bagasse.
