Sapura Energy Bhd. has refuted allegations it is involved in bribery or corruption in its business dealings with Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro S/A.

In an earlier investigation by Brazilian authorities in 2016 and 2017, Sapura was cleared of all allegations of bribery or corruption, the oil and gas engineering services and solutions provider said in a stock exchange filing on Thursday.

Sapura said it will continue to cooperate with any investigation or regulatory authority in relation to bribery and corruption.

The company's statement came after recent news reports saying that Sapura, together with joint venture partner SeaDrill Ltd., are under investigation by Brazilian and Dutch authorities as part of a probe into Petrobras' award of contracts.
