Saudi Arabian Mining Co. announced earnings and production results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported sales of SAR 2,717 million against SAR 2,270 million a year ago. Operating income was SAR 722 million against SAR 338 million a year ago. Net income for the quarter was SAR 341 million against SAR 200 million a year ago. Net income for the quarter attributable to shareholders' of the parent was SAR 276 million against SAR 200 million a year ago. Earnings per share were SAR 0.23 compared with SAR 0.16 a year ago.

For the quarter, the company reported the company reported ammonium phosphate fertilizer production of 637,000 tonnes against 600,000 tonnes a year ago. Primary Aluminum production was 228,000 tonnes against 219,000 a year ago. Precious and base metals business Gold was 70,000 ounces against 40,000 ounces a year ago.
