Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2018. For the quarter, sales were SAR 3,395,985,158 against SAR 3,139,961,625 a year ago. Total Profit was SAR 1,265,474,375 against SAR 830,664,517 a year ago. Profit operational was SAR 973,309,818 against SAR 614,463,022 a year ago. Net Profit after Zakat and Tax was SAR 518,792,075 against SAR 262,644,020 a year ago. The reasons for the increase in net profit during this quarter were an increase in average realized prices of all products except gold, the increase in sales volume of alumina and gold, an increase in the income from time deposits, an increase in the share of net profit of the joint venture (Maaden Barrick Copper Company) and a decrease in cost of sales by 8%. For the nine months, sales were SAR 10,346,059,305 against SAR 8,835,218,993 a year ago. Total Profit was SAR 3,967,911,801 against SAR 2,768,229,935 a year ago. Profit operational was SAR 3,191,157,811 against SAR 2,088,829,667 a year ago. Net Profit after Zakat and Tax was SAR 1,902,443,668 against SAR 981,958,805 a year ago. Profit per share was SAR 1.34 against SAR 0.7 a year ago. The reasons for the increase in net profit during this period were an increase in the in average realized prices of all products, an increase in sales volume of all products except ammonia and aluminium, an increase in the income from time deposits, an increase in the share of net profit of the joint venture (Maaden Barrick Copper Company) a decrease in the expenses of the write-off of mine properties by 40%, and a decrease in other expense.
