Sberbank and Telesport have signed a preliminary cooperation agreement stipulating that Sber will acquire Telesport, one of the biggest players in the market for sports rights and marketing. Upon the closing of the deal, Pyotr Makarenko is scheduled to remain the company CEO.

Broadcasts of the biggest sporting events by Okko, a Sber ecosystem resident, will attract new users. I am speaking about sports fans, the most loyal audience of all. Quality sports content will increase the audience of the service and broaden our offering of subscription bundles. I'd like to highlight that some of the sporting events will be broadcast outside Okko, too. An essential part of them might be broadcast across national TV channels, this is negotiable.

Andrey Kartashyan

Vice President for Corporate Development, Sber

According to the terms of the agreement, Okko Sport will be the exclusive broadcaster of La Liga games in Russia. Moreover, the highlights of all Telesport sporting events will be available to readers of the electronic media that are part of Sber's entertainment vertical, such as championat.com, lenta.ru, gazeta.ru, rambler.ru, etc.

The partnership with Sber is the next stage for our business development and the next level for our business. I am really excited that Telesport - the holder of exclusive rights to broadcast a variety of big domestic and international sporting events in Russia - is joining the Sber team and unlocking new development opportunities for the ecosystem's entertainment assets.

Pyotr Makarenko

CEO, Telesport
