Sberbank subsidiary Sberbank insurance will prioritize settling the losses of clients whose property sustained damage as a result of the flash floods in Zabaykalsky Krai and Amur Region. Payments will be made under a simplified based on a minimum package of documents.

A federal state of emergency has been declared in Zabaykalsky Krai and Amur Region. Over 33,000 apartments and private homes in the areas affected are insured with Sberbank insurance under the Home Protection program and mortgage insurance. As of June 28, the company had received 15 requests from clients whose property sustained damage from the powerful floods. The company expects to receive the majority of requests after the water has receded.

The insurer will settle the losses under a simplified procedure, with documents from the competent authorities excluded from the standard package of documentation required for payments. Insurance claims can be filed at Sberbank branches or via the SberBank Online and SberInspection mobile apps. Consultations regarding the settlement of insurance claims are available on the 900 24-hour helpline (free calls in Russia).

The Home Protection program enables clients to reliably protect their home from emergency situations. The policy insures apartments, private homes, or country houses from a wide variety of risks, including water damage, fire, damage caused by third parties, natural disasters, and emergency situations. It can be taken out at any Sberbank branch and remotely on the SberBank Online mobile app and the insurance company's website. The policyholder can be anyone and the property owner can be the beneficiary, e.g., you can insure your parents' house and protect them from contingencies in the future.
