VisionLabs, a Sber ecosystem company that is a global leader in machine learning, and Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology, have signed a cooperation agreement. Their strategic partnership envisages the creation of joint solutions through computer vision-based products and Atlas AI accelerators.

The Huawei Atlas product range covers all AI use scenarios providing compute capacity to utilize machine and deep learning models. The first step the two companies took as partners has been making the Atlas 800 compatible with VisionLabs' LUNA SDK face recognition engine.

LUNA SDK is a cross-platform system development kit with the functionality of neural networks-assisted recognition and analysis of faces and other objects in 2D images. Its algorithms have been fully designed by the VisionLabs team and recognized among the world's fastest and most precise. This year, the company led the tests run by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in four categories.

Thus, the VisionLabs-Huawei solution can find faces in videos and on photos, extract biometric templates they identify on faces, and match them against the available database. The solution can use road and IP cameras, dashboard cameras, wearable devices, etc. as image sources.

Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank:

'Joint solutions from industry leaders unlock new opportunities when combating crime and ensuring the safety of public spaces, increasing the efficiency of production and customer service. We welcome the joint efforts of VisionLabs and Huawei Enterprise and believe that the market will appreciate the results of this partnership very quickly.'

Xiao Haijun, CEO of Huawei Enterprise, Eurasia:

'The partnership with VisionLabs will be a big step forward in the joint development of artificial intelligence not only in Russia but in other regions of the world as well. We are delighted that VisionLabs has chosen our Atlas 800 AI server. It is the perfect learning solution using images, video analytics, and deep immersion. We look forward to fruitful cooperation moving forward and expect that the joint solution will be useful in many areas.'

Dmitry Markov, CEO, VisionLabs:

'Our partnership with Huawei, one of the leaders in hardware manufacturing, will allow us to offer customers a complete computer vision solution which will have dramatically higher efficiency as compared to current market offerings due to its software-hardware combination. This aspect is especially important when you need to work with large databases fast, for example, across transport and industrial infrastructure enterprises, smart city management platforms, national banking and government services.'
