Mrs Antoinette Kwofie has been appointed Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of Scancom PLC (Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) Ghana).

Mrs Kwofie is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), U. K. and an alumnus of the University of Ghana, Legon where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics.

According to a News Release issued in Accra on October 11, 2021, Mrs Kwofie had worked with Absa Bank since 2007, where she held various positions including Finance Business Partner, Head of Business Performance and Analytics and Financial Controller until 2013 when she was appointed CFO of the Bank in 2013, a position she held for over 8 years.

Prior to her engagement with Absa, the Release indicates, Antoinette had worked in a variety of senior finance roles within the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK and as a Consultant with the advisory services arm of Ernst & Young in Ghana.

According to the Board of Scancom PLC, the appointment took effect from October 1, 2021.

Commenting on her appointment, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, noted that Mrs Kwofie was the first female and the first Ghanaian to head the Finance Division of MTN Ghana.

Mr Adadevoh expressed the hope that working with Mrs Kwofie would help the company focus on building a platform business as part of the company's "Ambition 2025 strategy" to accelerate growth and unlock value in the coming years.
