Schroders is today announcing that it has strengthened its Buy & Maintain (B&M) credit team with the appointments of two B&M Credit Solutions Managers.

Matt Turner joins from BNP Paribas where he was part of the UK Credit team and worked with UK pension fund and insurance clients. Previously, he spent a decade at RBS, where he was a Director within UK credit.

In addition, Connor Murphy has moved internally from a Product Specialist role on Schroders Multi-Sector Fixed Income team, having joined the business from Robeco Asset Management in May 2020.

Matt and Connor will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing delivery of B&M strategies, with a focus on defined benefit pension schemes, alongside our insurance and other clients.

Schroders' B&M credit offering continues to grow to meet clients' evolving investment needs, with assets managed by the London team more than doubling over the last 18 months to £27.9bn*.

The team sits within the Portfolio Solutions division which works closely with clients and their advisers to develop tailored investment solutions.

This business growth has been enhanced by strong investment in expertise, with a dedicated UK based B&M team of 11 experienced professionals. They are helped by Schroders' credit research platform of over 40 credit analysts and well-resourced Sustainability team.

Environmental, social and corporate governance analysis is embedded into the investment process, and the team has recently focused on further developing its process to deliver portfolios with a materially lower carbon intensity.

Ross Pritchard, Head of Liability & Duration Solutions Management, commented:

'Schroders B&M credit team is dedicated to working in partnership with our clients to understand and help solve their investment problems. These high-quality additions to the B&M team further demonstrate our commitment to meeting our clients' increasingly complex objectives.'

The Portfolio Solutions division manages £100 billion* in assets across a range of outcome orientated growth, income and liability-aware portfolios, as well as risk management strategies.
