LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $182 million.

On a per-share basis, the Las Vegas-based company said it had profit of $1.84. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, were 96 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 45 cents per share.

The instant-win lottery ticket maker posted revenue of $539 million in the period, missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $759.6 million.
