Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended January 31, 2018. For the period, the company reported total revenue was TTD 444,896,000 as compared to TTD 444,757,000 for the same period last year. Net interest income was TTD 320,961,000 against TTD 306,858,000 a year ago. Income before taxation and loan loss was TTD 270,750,000 as compared to TTD 272,045,000 for the same period last year. Income before taxation was TTD 225,786,000 as compared to TTD 243,913,000 for the same period last year. Income after taxation was TTD 147,782,000 as compared to TTD 170,286,000 for the same period last year. Earnings per share were 83.8 cents as compared to 96.6 cents for the same period last year. Net cash used in operating activities was TTD 744,531,000 as compared to cash flow from operating activities of TTD 193,764,000 for the same period last year. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was TTD 1,467,000 as compared to TTD 2,788,000 for the same period last year. Return on equity was 15.05% against 17.79% a year ago. Return on assets was 2.44% against 2.88% a year ago.
