Tour de France: Séché Environnement at the start of the 5th stage 28/06/2021

On June 30, 2001, Tour de France riders will start from the small commune of Changé where Séché Environnement was born and raised. The Group will join the event near the starting village and offer awareness-raising activities on recycling, the circular economy, and sustainable development.

On June 30, 2021, the Mayenne will host Stage 5 of the 108th Tour de France. This time trial, between Changé and Laval, will follow a 27 km loop.

The Séché Environnement Group was born in Changé more than 35 years ago; its headquarters are located there as is one of its main waste treatment and recovery centers. A major economic player in the commune of Changé and part of the Mayenne economic fabric, the Group will attend the event and participate in the starting-city's village: Ô tour de Changé.

Raising awareness of environmental issues
  • Because our mission is to protect the environment from the impact of waste from human activities;
  • Because every day we fight to preserve the biodiversity on and around our industrial sites;
  • Because Séché Environnement is a producer of recovered energy and a major player of the circular economy;

we will be offering two fun and educational activities. Aim: to raise public awareness of what happens to their waste and of environmental issues.

The Tour de France of biodiversity

Since 2013, the French National Museum of Natural History, France Télévision (the French national public television broadcaster), and Tour de France have teamed up to raise awareness among viewers of the sporting event of the richness of their natural heritage. 21 stages, 21 sites.

As part of the Tour de France of biodiversity, France Télévision will broadcast an item during the stage devoted to the label of the Mayenne Nature Environnement association, 'Sur le chemin de la nature' (on nature's path). This label was awarded, in particular, to the pedagogical path of the Morinière Valley, owned by Séché Environment.
