Secure Trust Bank Real Estate Finance (STB REF) has funded the development of six new homes in the village of Standford, in Hampshire.

The two detached and four semi-detached houses are being built by Saville Homes Ltd, on the site of the former Whiteleys family restaurant.

Having been closed since 2014, Saville Homes acquired the property for redevelopment in May 2020.

STB REF provided the housebuilder with a £1.9m loan to kick start the project.

David Burke, relationship director at STB REF, said: 'Saville Homes has taken an unused and unloved site, which frankly was a bit of an eyesore in what is an otherwise picturesque village, and transformed it into an attractive housing development.

'Given the timing, the project hasn't been without its challenges, but Alan and his team have done a fantastic job keeping it on track and we're pleased to have been able to support him throughout the project.'

Alan Saville, director of Saville Homes, said: 'Secure Trust Bank has been an invaluable partner in the development, providing support and advice throughout. They understand the challenges and complexities of being a small housebuilder and are willing to be flexible in order to meet individual requirements.

'So, when we revised the plans for the scheme during build, the bank supported us with an increase to the loan amount.'
