Şekerbank signed a 30 million Euro loan agreement with FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, to support SMEs and farmers within the scope of financing sustainable development.

Continuing to support production and rural development for the past 68 years since its establishment, Şekerbank has acquired a new source in line with its deep-rooted relationship with development-oriented international financial institutions and signed a 30 million Euro loan agreement with FMO. The facility will be used to support Şekerbank's SME and farming customers across Turkey under the scope of financing sustainable development.

Aybala Şimşek: "International financial institutions keep on continuing to support Turkey's sustainable development".

Aybala Şimşek, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Financial Institutions at Şekerbank, emphasized the appreciation international financial institutions have for Şekerbank's continuous support to farmers, production, energy efficiency and SMEs in Anatolia for the purpose of financing sustainable development.

"This resource obtained from the FMO both shows the value given to Şekerbank's production and Anatolian-focused activities and confirms the trust in the Turkish economy. With this loan agreement signed to expand access to financing farmers and SMEs in Anatolia, we have witnessed once again that international financial institutions continue to support Turkey's sustainable development. As per the 68-year mission of community banking, we will continue to support production and give priority to sustainable and inclusive financing that embraces all segments of customers in the future," states Şimşek.

In their statement regarding the loan agreement, FMO emphasized Şekerbank's community banking mission, its pioneering role and activities in the field of sustainable development and its expertise on farmers and SMEs and stated the following:

"Şekerbank's long-term relationship with SMEs in the agricultural supply chain and producers is in line with FMO's strategy. This strategic alignment is the main determinant of more than a 10-year cooperation between FMO and Şekerbank."
