May 9 (Reuters) - Brazilian cash-and-carry chain Assai posted on Monday first-quarter net profit of 214 million reais, beating analysts estimates, boosted by high performance in its 32 new stores in the last 12 months and same store growth for the quarter.

Net profit fell 10.8% from a year earlier, but beat a Refinitiv consensus of 130.5 million reais. Net revenue grew 21.1% to 11.4 billion reais.

Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 17.3% to 752 million reais, slightly missing Refinitiv's forecast of 760.1 million reais.

The company also said it has opened four new stores in the first quarter, and aims to open 12 more in 2022. (Reporting by Carolina Pulice and Peter Frotini Editing by Chris Reese)
