Serco : shortlisted for Australian hospital redevelopment and expansion project

Serco Australia is pleased to announce that it has been shortlisted for the redevelopment and expansion project of the existing Frankston Hospital in Victoria, Australia (the 'Project').

The Project will ensure that the growing population in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula have easy access to high-quality medical services in their local community. The redeveloped and expanded Frankston Hospital will provide a multi-level acute services tower, new maternity, obstetrics, and paediatric wards as well as a new women's clinic. There will also be additional beds capacity and operating theatres and improved mental health and oncology services.

The Project will be delivered as an availability-based Public Private Partnership ('PPP') with the State of Victoria and has an estimated capital cost of AUD562 million. Up to 1700 jobs are expected to be created during construction as well as additional employment opportunities once the redeveloped hospital is fully operational.

Serco is a part of the Pulse Health Partnership consortium, which includes global partners John Laing and BESIX Watpac. If successful, Serco will act as facilities manager undertaking soft services delivery and all asset maintenance and replacement for 25 years.
