Fiber: 220,000 new connections in 81 municipalities
In September 2016, 220,000 new homes and business premises were made eligible for fiber connections in 81 municipalities across France. Thirty eight of these are new to the world of fiber, including Riorges, Villecresnes and Villefranche-sur-Saône, while 43 benefited from extensions of their coverage, including Besançon, Caen, Hénin-Beaumont, Lagord, Menton and Olivet (see the full lists at the end of this release). Since January 2016, SFR brought its fiber services to more than 210 new municipalities and now serves a total of more than 1,300 French cities.

SFR is France's leading FTTH/FTTB provider with more than 8.5 million eligible connections and - thanks to its massive investments - intends to stay ahead with its rollout plan to reach 22 million eligible connections in 2022.

According to regulator Arcep, SFR provides France's fastest hookup to the fiber network

In its latest report on the quality of the connection to fixed-line services, Arcep confirmed that SFR is the operator that connects customers to the fiber network in the shortest period of time. Indeed, SFR is number 1 according to five of the regulator's six criteria measuring the wait for a fiber connection. In addition, the report confirms once again the reliability of SFR's fiber network, which has the least malfunctions after the 30 days following the service's provision.

1,514 more municipalities covered by 4G or 4G+
In September, with 1,514 more municipalities covered by 4G or 4G+, SFR kept on massively rolling out its superfast mobile broadband. SFR, the first operator to launch 4G in France, activated the greatest number of new 4G sites this quarter, for the fourth consecutive time. (source: ANFR). In the past twelve months, SFR more than doubled its network of 4G base stations in France. Firmly committed to densifying its superfast broadband network, SFR will stay on track to cover 90% of France's population by end 2017.
In September, this accelerated deployment brought 4G to 1,107 new municipalities, including Mont-de-Marsan and Saint-Louis. In addition to this increasingly dense 4G network, SFR further extended its 4G+ network with 407 new municipalities covered, including Amiens, La Rochelle, Pessac or Montauban (see the lists at the end of this release).

4G+ is available at no extra cost to SFR customers with 4G subscriptions and compatible terminals. Eligibility for fiber, 4G/4G+ coverage and details of the service offerings are available on sfr.fr.

Michel Paulin, SFR Telecom's CEO, pointed out: 'In September, the massive investments we made in our network infrastructure continued to bear fruit and directly benefited our customers. During this month, we brought 4G or 4G + in 1,514 municipalities and commercialized 220,000 additional eligible fiber connections. Once again, we are proving our determination and our daily commitment to bring superfast broadband to the greatest number of homes and business premises.'
