China Eastern Airlines (MU) has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to launch a nonstop international service between Shanghai and Prague starting April, 2016, according to an announcement released Thursday on the official website of CAAC.

Pending government approval, the Shanghai-based carrier will fly its Airbus A332 or Boeing 777 or Boeing 767 aircraft on the Shanghai Pudoing-Prague route starting next April, with three flights weekly.

The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until Dec 17, 2015.
